Biopsy day…

biopsy

Today is the day…fortunately the storm has passed and the clouds are moving out.  There’s not too much damage to roads between here and there so I will make my biopsy appointment at 1pm as scheduled.  I was more nervous about it yesterday, I think.  Today I’m so calm I almost feel numb.

I guess in part it’s because this is out of my control.  If they find something, we’ll fix it.  I sincerely trust that God will provide talented doctors in all areas to deal with the task at hand and the after care as well.  If it’s nothing, it will continue to remind me that life is fragile and I should take nothing for granted.  Either way, it’s all good.

As I said, we weathered the storm.  Lots of rain and heavy winds, but no damage here as far as I can tell.  There was a tree downed on a road we often take that connects Lake Wylie to Fort Mill.  That surprised me a bit.  But there are seriously big, establshed trees along that road and with the amount of water we got it’s not shock that the ground softened enough that once mixed with terrential winds the tree uprooted and fell over.  I hear they’ve already cleared it.

There were some lives lost, a few from freak accidents with falling trees, a few from the storm itself more towards the coast.  I am saddened for those families who suffered loss, but at the same time am so grateful it wasn’t worse.  The way that storm was coming in I was expecting all sorts of horrible, even this far inland.  I feel that we were really blessed that the destruction wasn’t more far-reaching.  I so pray for those who have lost everything and have to rebuild along the coast.  I can only imagine the feeling of devestation.

Now that the storm has passed, my cousin Dee will be arriving tomorrow from Illinois.  I cannot express how excited I am to see her and spend time with her.  We’re off to the Biltmore for a few days and then back here at the end of the week.  We’ll probably stop by my other cousin, Jeff, to say “hi”.  Her room and bathroom are all ready for her to relax when we return.  I booked dinners in Asheville at Tupelo and then on the grounds of the Biltmore.  So excited!  Truly.

I should know the reslts of my biopsy by Friday and I’m sure once I digest them either way I’ll update the blog.  Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts today.  I could use all you can spare.
