Crunchy Girl…

I have so never thought of myself as “crunchy”, as a “granola”, a “naturalist”…but it turns out I am.

Let’s be honest, I was looking for a discount on Lavender oil, because I like it and I heard it helps relax people in stressful situations.  I wanted to make some bath bombs for the killer bathtub I now have.  That’s all.  Just an inexpensive way to get a discount on lavender.  So I reached out to a photographer I knew who was selling Young Living Essential Oils and asked her how to wholesale.  I made it clear I wasn’t selling anything.  And she was great.

Her response was genuine, she shared some information, sent me a link and I was off and running with a “starter kit”.  Eleven oils, including Lavender, and a diffuser (who couldn’t use a new diffuser?) all arrived at my home a few days later and I was hooked.

I opened all the oils and smelled them.  Some strong, some pungent, some delightful.  I cracked the diffuser and started with the point — Lavender.  Next stop — bath bombs — that failed miserably (I am not one for reading directions — albeit they might be helpful when trying new things! LOL).

The kit came with a product catalog and I have to say, I was blown away.  I had NO IDEA there were so many products other than oils.  Let’s be frank, I didn’t know anything about YL before I got my kit.  In Colorado, Doterra happens to be the bomb in oils.  Turns out if not for YL there might not be a Doterra since their founder starter with our company.  So, in a way I was glad when I put feelers out to Doterra, no one got back to me (like still, to this day, two months later)…

In the kit came a sample of Thieves cleaning solution, a highly concentrated mix of amazing scents and cleaning power.  Thieves gets its name from history.  During the days of the plague, a pack of grave robbers who were apparently not catching the sickness were caught and asked what they were doing to stay well — turns out they were coating themselves in the herbs and plants of the day (Cloves, Cinnamon, etc.) and it was creating a sort of immunity for their systems.  That’s the basis for Thieves.  And I was in love the first time I used it.  Safe for my granite and all things surfaces…

Since then I’ve ventured into their non-toxic makeup and the list of what’s available goes on and on.  So, where I started for a discount, I’ve now literally changed my life, and my family’s life.  I’m going non-toxic in my house.  Riding it of things like alcohol-based/chemical-based hand sanitizers, laundry soap, window/glass cleaner.  I’m using oils to support my immune system and my digestive system (plus, let’s be real, they smell amazing), and sleep routine.  And I’m on a mission to help others do the same.

I never in a million years thought I would be associated with another MLM, but here I am, head over heals with a product, and an organization, and it’s all I can do not to scream about it from the rooftops.  Just call me “Crunchy”…
