It’s been a whle…
First on the roster, of course, is Cathy.
Cathy is doing well. She has received her first shot of Lenroetide. She said it didn’t hurt, she hasn’t had any apparent side effects, and month 2 shot is coming up at the end of this month. After the 3rd injection, we will give it a few weeks and then rescan her lungs to see if there’s been any promising effects. I’m not expecting it to have shrunk the tumor much, but any improvement would be great. And then we’ll go another round of 3. As far as I’m concerned, this is the treatment plan for the foreseeable future. If this works, and she continues to tolerate it well, why do surgery and put her through that? We shall see.
As for me, life has been busy as usual. Memorial Day weekend we went down to Hilton Head with Mel’s family — only to be rained out. Kenzie and I did get a brief moment at the beach right after we arrived on Friday. So I was thankful for that. We wound up driving down to Savannah and had a wonderful day down there.

I’ve also been steeped in updating the interior of my house. Painting, putting up board & batton in Frank’s office, sending the couch out to be reupholstered. Being without a couch for a month is a bit of a hardship, but I’m hoping in the end it will be worth it.
The entire house is moving from coastal greens to coastal blues and white – other than Kenzie’s room, which we are redoing in mulberry/purple. She intends to move out in a year but asked if we could move her from a 17-year-old room to something a little more sophisticated while she lives at home. So, I obliged and offered my labor to paint.
I have been in Denver since last Wednesday (heading home in a few hours) first for our Annual Shareholder’s meeting and then for this week’s customer conference. I wound up just staying over the weekend and used the time to catch up with Randi/Wade, Jake, Alana, and my brother. I also had the opportunity to spend some time with my friend Jennifer. She’s an amazing woman for sure — tons of accomplishments I could list, but in the end, what I love most is that she’s kind. She’s compassionate. She is good people.

Time with the team is always good. I enjoy working remote, but my work peeps are important to me. We have a good team, especially Crystal, Tomas and I.
Before this week, in the middle of May, we held our legal offsite in Charleston. That’s a whole other story, but I as able to finally grab some pics of the three of us, and some of the rest of the group.

When the work is tough, when I feel burnt out, Tomas and Crystal are my touchstones. They are what I enjoy most about my job in the end. Or I wouldn’t have spent the last 13 years following Crystal around!
The week has been good, but I’m ready to head home and have some time off. We are off 1/2 a day on Thursday and all day on Friday. I’ll get a long overdue haircut and hopefully finish painting my downstairs.
One could hope.
