In addition to the Savannah Bee Tupelo Honey I brought back from our Mother’s Day trip last weekend, I seem to have brought home a nasty head cold as well.
Super fun times!
I started feeling like crap on Tuesday, by Wednesday I knew something was up for sure and Thursday I went to the doc because we have our department off-site in Charleston next week and I coordinate the whole thing so I really don’t have an out when it comes attending.
I was already developing an ear infection so they sent me home with an antibiotic and I figured that would take care of things — not so much.
Though my ears feel much better, my nose does not. I had not idea I could go through so many tissues in the span of a day.
I did test for Covid this morning, just to be sure, but it was definitively negative, so that’s a plus. I was sure walking among the unclean masses of Savannah that’s what I would have picked up. Looks like no one else in the group brought home the gift. I’m the lucky one.
At least I feel like I’m starting to turn the corner.
Next week is going to be fun, but long. We all arrive on Monday. Melanie and I will drive down together since it’s only a few hours. Most everyone else will fly in from their respective locations.
Tuesday and Wedensday will be training (legal “stuff” and leadership), we’ll do some fun things in between. Dinner at High Cotton and a culinary tour in the end. Very excited about that. Even though I likely won’t be able to eat anything. It’s all about dairy and dough in the South.
I’m ready to return to normal life. This laying around thing is not for me. I watched three movies and literally hours of TV yesterday. I can’t do another day of that. Today I’ll do church on line so as to save everyone else from having to sit near me while I’m still recovering, and quite frankly I don’t yet have the energy to get cute for the day. Hopefully that will all be remedied come Monday morning.
Wish me luck.
